the only reason this album didn’t fall through the cracks as soon as it was released was because Fripp later started that one band King Crimson. but seriously, who saw that coming from listening to this?
its got the British dandy, pastoral psychedelic feel slathered all over it like butter; you start to morph into one of those grinning idiots on the cover as you listen to it. each side of the original LP was a “concept” held together by interim skits that sound like kindergartners reading something they wrote for storytime and it starts to grate reallllllllllly quickly but Fripp pulls off some jazzy fretwork so it balances out.
